Char Burger - Deer Park

I love this place! Value and quality cannot be beaten. The burger is fantastic and remembers the food in the 80s. This place is Retro Vintage cool. I feel like a little porthole in time. Such a wonderful little spot. And the couple that leads the place is super perfect. I appreciate what they do here in the community.

I tried the place when my car broke off one day and I went back to the office. I agree with other reviewers that the dining area and the exterior have to be updated. But doing this kind of things can be expensive and if they leasing the building, it is usually not worth the cost. As for food, I had a Gyro Platter. After growing up in a very Greek area of Upstate NY, I was really surprised and happy to find that it was as if I came home earlier. I was initially disappointed that there was no Tzatziki sauce on the side, but quickly realized that there was a lot in the pita and every bite until the last was delicious. My office is close and I just always drove past the next drive-through because it looked a bit dingy. While it seemed old and dark it seemed clean, what is all I ask of the places I get food from. I found the mature Greek woman who can curse the orders a little and see why so many people consider them as rude.... but that is exactly what I would expect from a Greek woman of her figure. LOL I found it a bit amusing and authentic. If you are this person, the feelings are slightly hurt and you are looking for the robotic, happy smiling company staff behind the counter, you will not appreciate this place. If you stand up for a different than the standard experience and appreciate old fashion diner type food (which is not a high- or mid-end restaurant) then give it a go. For a place surrounded by chains of fast food restaurants, this is the real deal.

Good Giro with Fritten and also had the Greek salad, can not beat the price, went to this place for a long time.

The food is hot and homemade. My burger was delicious. Customer service is good, but don't expect anything above the top.

The appearance does not do this place justice. Please don't let the outside or inside deter you from trying it because it almost stopped us, but we are happy we went in. We were pleasantly surprised, the burgers were very good and well cooked. They have a variety, and we will try other things at another time. Nice staff, bathroom is a little cramped, but a great little hole in the wall.
