The Royal Restaurant - DARLINGTON POINT

I spend at least 8 months of the year here. The food is great and reasonably priced. The rooms are clean and the prices are fair. I will definitely be back next year.

Living just a few minutes away and driving past this restaurant for years, my family decided to finally give it a try for a casual pub dinner. Unfortunately, the experience was not great. The best dish was the $10 pub special rump steak, but the adult chicken Parma and kids' version were overcooked and tasted dry and crusty. The kids cheeseburger was also disappointing, with a dry bun, overcooked patty, and a small piece of cheese. Despite having plenty of staff around, none seemed very interested in providing exceptional service. I would recommend trying out other pubs in Erskineville or Mary's in Newtown for better food options.

My friend brought me here on a Saturday afternoon to meet her coworkers. I didn't realize it was a hotel at first, I thought it was just a pub.

Cheap beers, and sticky tablesDefinitely a Uni bar, but one with charm.

If you're looking for a good pub meal then you won't be disappointed by The Royal.
