Mercat Bistro - Dallas

To start off the food was delicious. The atmosphere was wonderful. The service was not great. We set up reservations for 7:30. The reservations asked if there was a special occasion it was my birthday so we checked yes for birthday. When we arrived there was no mention of anyone 's birthday so why did they ask on the reservation? Also the waiter we had seemed very bothered to be there and after ordering our drinks it took a good 10 minutes before we received them. Then we asked for drawn butter and the waiter acted like he was going to get it then came past the table again when I asked again for the drawn butter and he said oh we don 't have that, what is it then said he would ask his chef. I then told him not to worry about it we were almost done with the entree. It was pretty disappointing for a birthday dinner celebration to be treated like we were bothering the waiter. I witnessed 2 other wait staff members with their tables and they were so lively and friendly. We also ordered the bread pudding it was delicious and the creme brulee was over cooked pretty awful. Overall just a disappointing experience for a birthday dinner.

Jorge is the best bartender and the cooks are magicians, I swear! The food is consistently amazing every single time. Can’t wait to go back! The hostesses are always accommodating and friendly too! The manager Mario and Diane always go above and beyond. Daniel was wonderful too! The food is amazing and never disappoints. I just love the French ambiance and environment!

Great food, cocktails, and amazing small, dark, romantic atmosphere! Highly recommend the oysters and gnocchi! The bartender was also very accommodating and was able to modify one of their signature cocktails to make one of the most amazing cocktails I’ve had in the area! The server was sweet, but made it known they had been cut to leave during the middle of our meal which left us feeling a bit more rushed than we would have liked. This issue (feeling rushed out the door) has been my only complaint at both this restaurant and the other neighboring restaurant. However, it definitely by no means will prevent me from returning again as it’s a block away from where I live and I can’t wait to bring more friends and family back in the near future!

Service was so slow food came out cold and not a we requested. Would not be going back.

Check out the beautiful Polar Bear room around the holidays! It features a live polar bear band. The fries and cocktails are amazing.
