Bidrage med feedbackThis Inn is my new favorite! Every room is charmung and decorated beautifully. We were able to look inside the unoccupied rooms and saw that each room is scrupulously clean and comfortable. Even though the rooms are on the second floor the staircase is easy to navigate. There is a cute coffee bar with a variety of snacks. The staff works well together and if they are understaffed we didn't notice because our service was excellent. We chose to stay there for dinner and are glad we did. The food was unique and delicious. Definitely prepared by a chef who knows what they are doing! The setting is peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed every moment of our stay. We are going to make this our favorite stay in the UP.
It's an original old fashioned hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. Chef is talented with a more classic European cuisine but including local ingredients like whitefish. (Please see my note on safety.)Rooms: The rooms vary with some having their own restroom and others using a nice but shared men's and separate women's bathrooms. Some have cable tv and others no tv. (We like the quiet)Safety: There is a bad review about the owners dog. I was there. Their dog had a service jacket but no paperwork was presented. These people were reported to air b b for helping themselves to the kitchen when it was closed. Yes the dogs got in a scuffle but neither one was harmed. Both dogs were very friendly on their own and I can't say which one started it.Staffing post-covid is short as we have found everywhere even in downtown Manhattan this year.Food drinks: The bar and restaurant is only open from Wednesday through Saturday due to staff shortages. The place fills up due to the great food and atmosphere.Noteworthy details: The rooms are on the 2nd 3rd floors. The restaurant and bar are on the first and handicap accessible. The location is on a large lake with other lakes in the vicinity. About 35 steps down to the lake. There is a dock and local and dnr access for boating. Get a lake map at Mick's and have them show you the areas as there are rocky portions.
My service dog was attacked by the owners pitbull. The Pitbull ran straight for my dog and got to my service doga neck and started bitting. This was the 3rd time the pit bull charged my service dog. The cook and servers were amazing the breakfast's were pretty good but the place is definitely not dog friendly.Safety: Dont go if you have any dogs the pitbull attacked my family's service dog for no reasonFood drinks: Food was good
We were traveling throughout the UP for the first time and saw this place online so we went out of our way to stay there. No one was in sight when we arrived and our key was just laying out to check-in ourselves. The restaurant was closed so we set out to find dinner with our family. Our only options in town were 2 bars. We were completely ignored at both and never got served so we ended up finding some cheese and crackers from a gas station and eating on a picnic table in the yard of the B&B. It was a beautiful setting but we were not made to feel at home at all. Beautiful campfire spot but no offer to start a fire for us and we didn’t even know who to ask for things so we just kept to ourselves. There was never an owner or staff person who introduced themselves. Rooms were ok but no A/c and it was hot on second floor. No water pressure. We thought breakfast might make up for it but it was two fried eggs and cold biscuits and gravy. We have stayed at B&Bs before and experienced extremely cozy atmospheres with amazing service. Keish, brioche French toast, fresh pastries and fruit, etc. This was nothing like that. We paid a whole lot and went out of our way for a miserable experience. It looked like an abandoned old house, not at all what it portrays online. We couldn’t leave town fast enough! I was so sad! :
It is a beautiful place with plenty of great amenities. The food is always excellent so is the staff. I definitely recommend!
