Guadalajara's - Covington

It's great! The food leaves a bit to be desired but they treat me well and that's all that matters.......to me.

We stopped to check it out. Place is clean and decorated nicely. I just can't figure out why it wasn't busier on a Saturday night. The waitress could had been a little more attentive. But she did her job. I order street pork taco. I would say they were probably the best Taco I have ever had. Just fried pork in a soft taco. No sauces or condiments. But it was the softness, moist piece of fried pork I had ever had. I found the place to be enjoyable and over looked resource of Covington. Plus their beer was cold.

Giving this restaurant one star is being generous. My companion and I were the only guests there when we arrived on a Saturday for lunch which should have been my first clue. The server was unfriendly, detached and acted as though she'd rather be anywhere else. It was useless trying to engage her in friendly conversation, she simply didn't care. When then two combo platters arrived at our table quicker than a Taco Bell taco, I knew the food was not freshly made and I was right. Everything had been microwaved. The canned, pale beans were tasteless as was the nasty minute rice. The burrito and enchilada has a horrible cheese whiz fake cheese in them and both were inedible. When the server came back I asked her to remove the completely uneaten platter due to the awful food. She took it without comment and walked away. No apology and no offer was made to replace the dish with something else. We weren't charged for the dish which is the only positive thing I can say about the place. I've had better tv dinners and Vic Maier's old IGA building and Covington deserve better than this disgraceful place.

Use to love this place. Now it’s awful. Stale chips, cheese so lumpy you can turn it upside down without any falling out. Waitress was not attentive. We were the only people there and had to ask for refills and our bills. Brought one son a refill and left my other sons on the bar. I ordered a small margarita but was brought a medium which was $7.99. Ordered fried ice cream and it was Superman flavor rather than vanilla. When I finally complained (which I never do) the waitress went to another waitress and was obviously talking about me. Rude! Will not be going back. Sure changed since Daisy and Sandy were there.
