The Fire Pit - Coronado

Loved the vibe of this place! It was fairly busy for early in the evening on a Saturday night. The views of the stadium and water at sunset were relaxing yo watch as I sipped on my margarita. I like that they had counter space along the perimeter, as well as cushioned seating with heat lamps. Note: you cannot take leftover food from another restaurant into the bar- your to go box will get confiscated!

We stayed at another Marriot to celebrate a milestone birthday as a mother daughter duo. Within walking distance we headed to Altitude Sky Lounge for a drink. Horrible Mistake ! My daughter purchased one drink ,within 15 min she was que 'd by her bank that $306.88 had been charged to her account by ALTITUDE SOLEIL after the $12.99 drink she had approved and signed for. Altitudes Bartender and Manager (Eric) claim to have zero receipts or tender for the amount and provided us with the Marriot Hotel 's Financing Department who appears to busy to return calls 48 hours of a complaint. There is zero cover, zero dress code. If you can walk in the front doors of Marriot from K Street you can walk right into the lobby and be directed to 22nd floor for the great view of the city skyline atop the roof at the club but an expensive experience for the 30 min we were . Perhaps human error , perhaps a result of very lax security, quality of employees during the off season according to them . We let the guests who rode down from the 22nd floor in the elevator be aware of what had transpired and warned them to check their accounts as well for Altitude having a skimmer on one of their card readers at the bar . Beware. We are awaiting a call back from Marriot 's Accounting Department to rectify the situation before we proceed with other reviews and while financial institution investigates the fraud on Altitude 's part. Hopefully they have cameras for review to catch the culprits if it was something other than human error.

Pros: Food was pretty good I had the pretzel sticks around 18 bucks pretty pricey but expected, great atmosphere, great vibes, amazing views, it has lots of space to talk and a bar to order drinks. Cons: THIS IS WHY IT GETS A LOW GRADE, I came into the place with a drink (I had no clue that you couldn 't drink it) it was a strawberry drink, I came by the front and the supervisor took the drink from my hands and said I 'm going to be taking that and grabbed it from my hands!!!! The guy who brought me the food acknowledged that actually that, that was rude. Then I didn 't make a fuss because I 1) realized I was in the wrong partially and 2) they 're holding my drink at the front when I leave. I was wrong the security just told me he took it and did who knows what with it. I paid 4-6 bucks for it and it was still almost full. I realized I was wrong but is it too much to ask to save it for me when I leave? I then talked to the hotel supervisor/manager on duty she then gave me the run around and her compensation was a water bottle . Not even around the same value. Maybe nothing can be done to compensate for my rude and unpleasant stay but maybe if the guy who did it was friendlier and act like I was a kid the way he grabbed it from my hand and told me I 'm really sorry . Or take the money off of my 18 dollar petzel. I never like to be that person to be negative and cause issues, but I 've NEVER FELT SO DISRESPECTED. Overall it 's a great place to go but some of the security was actually the highlight not the gorgeous view or the fun time.

While searching for rooftop venues with happy hour extending beyond 6 pm, I stumbled upon the exceptional Altitude bar, conveniently located next to Petco Park. Their happy hour runs until 7 pm on weekdays, offering a diverse array of options, including wine, beer, well drinks, and margaritas. I opted for the wine and margarita, both of which exceeded my expectations with a delightful flavor and perfect alcohol percentage. The rooftop bar boasts breathtaking views, providing a captivating backdrop. The ample seating options and the presence of a cozy fireplace create a relaxed ambiance. I'm eagerly anticipating my return to Altitude, drawn to the unique vibe and the prospect of enjoying a picturesque sunset while sipping on delightful margaritas. It truly promises to be a memorable experience.

Excellent rooftop bar. Beautiful views especially at sunset and when there's a game at Petco Chilly at night but there's a firepit to keep you warm. Had a delicious champagne strawberry mojito. Minus one star as there really wasn't much food choices.
