Bidrage med feedbackCream Teas are found all over Cornwall and Devon. I have sampled most of them. I walked into Cupcakes in Port Isaac expecting a good cream tea.........I walked out blown away. At the end of the day when ordering cream tea there are three elements to be fulfilled with the scone being the most important. What I had was a different level. A perfect moment a scone beyond reproach. This is what British cuisine should be about this is what happiness is. Well done Cupcakes, well done.
Upon entering the Tea House, the first thing that stands out is the delicious cakes on display. The scones are incredible, and the cream tea is a must-try - we couldn't finish it all and ended up taking some scones home. The generous portions of jam and clotted cream made it truly superb. The tea was also fantastic, with plenty of hot water for refills, allowing us to leisurely enjoy our cream tea. I can't praise Port Isaac enough, and my stay at The Crows Nest with its stunning views and excellent bed and breakfast only added to the experience. For any traveler visiting Cornwall, this is a must-visit spot.
Unfortunately, the restaurant is closed. I stopped by, knowing it was closed, but just wanted to inform others. It's sad because I always enjoyed grabbing a quick snack there, and there isn't a direct replacement for their early morning breakfast sandwiches.
Unfortunately, Cup Cakes is no longer open. When we visited in June, we found it closed. We returned to Port Isaac last week for a quick visit and discovered that it had been turned into a small gift shop, charming and lovely. It's disheartening to see it gone.
Visited Cup Cakes for breakfast. Received exactly what we ordered but did feel it a little overpriced. The owner ? chatted but a bit insincere and we guess this is for the 'benefit ' if tourists. We were also privaliged to a conversation between him and the kitchen about their leaving party perhaps his heart isn 't in it!!!!
