Bidrage med feedbackThis was the first time the woman in the Hyeholde, and probably my sixth or more (best if company pays!) . I knew she likes it, but I wait for a special occasion as it is not the cheapest place in the city. Since we both have our birthdays at the same time, we decided to splash. At first I have to mention the ambience that is really the main drawing. Built in 1930 by a man who promised his wife a castle when I say built, I mean, he has handmade it. It is not really a castle, more like a craft style house with many rooms, plains and some castle-like features, such as round towers, oak trusses, fireplaces and many wood. We drove away so I could show her the outside, and she was looking forward to seeing the inside. We started with glasses of wine and appetizers. She had the special, part of Mahi Mahi while I went for the Sherry Bisque, a Hyeholde stamp since 1937. The woman was worried about how often the starter course fills her up and she can't enjoy dinner. Not really a problem here, as portions are more continental, not huge American portions. For our main courses, she went for the Elysian Fields rack of lamb, but replaced mushroom frisasse for the Moroccan lenses (not due to a lens version, on the contrary, she didn't think she was as good as those she had in the Middle East. I am a steak type, but usually I go for fillet mignon as I prefer it very little fat, and I tend to waste much on other cuts. I decided to go for the 12oz primary strip steak as the other steak court, the special, was described as higher in fat content. For dessert we split a blood orange skirt and the cream brulee. So, the review. I confess I was wasted some of the steak as there was some fat and part of it for my taste. Maybe. I should have tried the bouquet, as the server said, that was a very slim meat cut. (They also had Elch, but none of us were experimental enough to either try. The portion size was more than sufficient, as I said, they could bum it for an even more cook. It covered my whole plate, although it tended to flood the other objects, which led to a more opaque appearance. The lamb frame was very nice, and the portion size was more than enough for the woman who bagd half to bring home. Desserts were very tasty, especially the blood orange skirt that was special. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. The food is very good, like the service, and the atmosphere is different in the area. That said, be ready for a sticker shock with the bill. In my opinion, there are other places with equally good food at lower prices, such as Ditkas or Monterrey Bay, but the atmosphere is completely different. This is partly what you pay for, and if you accept that, you will not be disappointed. It is hard to say whether Hyeholde is a great value, how much of what you pay is subjective. How much does the atmosphere cost? Only every person can say for himself.
Hyeholde gave us a table in the back that was semi-private, rustic, and our party of four really enjoyed it. We ordered from a special Valentines menu that was six course and served perfectly. The food was good, but the food was the only reason why this facility was not rated five. I'd definitely come back here. The Maitré D asked us nicely that they had to reseate the table at the end, which was a strange humility. That said they were busy. The bottles of wine and dessert were present.
Hidden jewel in front of Pittsburgh. The food and service was excellent!!! Embedded in the forests you will remember a country in Europe.
Beautiful event for a wedding! The food was delicious and the place is really well maintained. You have options for parking. The outside is really beautiful and there is a lot of picturesque area!
I have eaten at Hyeholde Restaurant a couple of times in the past several years. Previously, I ate inside the main dining room. During my most recent visit, I ate outside on a blanket for a private picnic with my husband. The food tasted delicious, and we greatly enjoyed the castle-like atmosphere. The employees' service was very professional.
