I left a five-star rating earlier for this fabulous place, but as soon as they opened, I think it is very much that Mary and Nick have gone from strength to strength in every respect. The ambience is excellent, the service is personal and well maintained while not intrusive. The wide range of spectacular teas and coffee is in the second to none and everywhere is immaculately clean and beautifully artistic, a real pleasure just to be there. But what about the food you ask? Well, I left the best until last, as the food is so good and consistent. Perfectly fresh and fabulously tasty, all house cooked with health in the head, you will not find better. Mary cooks and prepares everything that leaves her kitchen to maintain the strictest quality control. This is our "fortunate place." You can park on the square in Confolens and enjoy the beautiful short walk over the old bridge or you can drive around and find parking by the river or along the road. If you can, this is a popular place loved by French and English locals.

From the front door you can feel the quality of this place. The attention to detail is wonderful from the decor to the secret garden areas and the freshly prepared food. It's not a fast food joint, it's an FRESH food. The homemade pesto and salad dressing are a pleasure to taste buds. The Panini was a good quality with a generous filling of moist, delicious chicken and came with a generous, interesting salad. The wide selection of teas in heavy, specialized pots gave another special touch. We will definitely be back with family and friends. Thank you for your hospitality.

A fabulous place, a parenthesis in a green garden at the edge of the water or inside very arty. The cheescake is to be damned and the welcome is fantastic sober and warm.

Gorgeous spot beside the river, very friendly staff and delicious food including great options for veggies. Lovely with kids too. Please open in the evenings
