Bidrage med feedbackWe had lunch at this restaurant and were in search of a dish with more flavor and higher quality. The food at Dergah Grill was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
During my recent visit to Sydney, I dined at this restaurant twice. I ordered the moussaka plate and the vegetarian plate. I particularly enjoyed the lentils, which were simple but delicious. The moussaka, surprisingly vegetarian, consisted of half a roasted eggplant topped with a sauce containing chopped tomatoes and green peppers. The serving size was generous enough for two people. The prices were reasonable compared to other restaurants in Australia where I have paid more for smaller portions of food.
I selected this restaurant for lunch because it seemed like a nice option in an upscale shopping mall food court. We arrived early, but it became busier and noisier as more people walked around us while we ate. We decided to share some dishes, including flatbread stuffed with spinach and cheese with dips, moussaka, and salads. Everything was decent, but the moussaka was not what I was anticipating. The vegetables were diced in the aubergine, and it was not as spicy as I had hoped. However, it was still acceptable.
The menu looked interesting so we ordered a falafel wrap and the veggie plate (falafels with lots of sauce and veggies) but everything was really bland. It all looked great but we left pretty disappointed. It cost about $30 for the two meals as well.
Dergah Grill in the 5th floor food court of the Westfield Mall provides a fresh Mediterranean and Turkish fair for a busy lunch crowd. The falafel was delightful, as was the moussaka. The restaurants here are much nicer than the term food court might indicate. Trust me, you would be happy to find your lunch in this place!
