Bidrage med feedbackWe recently stopped for dinner at Da Frenzio while staying at a local hotel awaiting ferry transport to Sardinia. Reviews had listed this small restaurant as a favorite of locals and the workforce. I anticipated something much less as as I was pleased to find A clean and nicely decorated restaurant. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and shown to a table in the back dining room. You enter through a bar and front dining area where we found all the tables occupied with single diners, mostly men, watching television while eating their meals. The back dining room was much quieter and for awhile, we were the only couple eating there. Da Frenzio has been a family owned and operated eatery for the past 20 years and the current chef has been in place for 13 years. The owner told me that he is very grateful for the successful business they have had over the years. This is not fancy dining as tables were topped with paper tablecloth's and paper napkins. The daily menu was posted on a chalkboard that listed 4 antipasti, 4 pasta dishes and 4 entrées. The owner described some of the dishes that were on his menu and there were both meat and seafood items. We started our meal with two different types of pasta. One was spaghetti with mussels and clams. The spaghetti took on all the beautiful flavored from the seafood. The second was a flat pasta noodle (lasagnette) that was made with a mullet (triglia) fish ragù. The portions were generous and very delicious. I followed this with an octopus salad that was made with fresh tomatoes, celery and green olives. The octopus was tender, flavorful and the celery lended a nice crunch. I used bread to mop up the yummy sauce. For dessert, we enjoyed a strawberry Tiramisu and a pistachio Tiramisu. Both desserts were homemade and delicious. I ended my meal with a glass of Averna amaro. Prices were very reasonable with our above meal, plus a half liter of house wine and a bottle of water, totaling 38 euros. I would return to Da Frenzio and I highly recommend this restaurant to the TripAdvisor community.
