Good food and service, but the space is too small to dine in comfottablyVegetarian options: Some chicken dishes available as tofu
We were in the area and looking for something different. Found this place online and went there for dinner on a Wednesday evening. Upon walking in, we realized there was no room for us the eat. Just 4 hightop tables crammed in against the wall. The woman told us we can pull a table out and add two chairs. So we decided to stay. We ordered at the counter and sat down. The entrees came promptly but we had ordered appetizers and Won Ton soup. We had to start eating. There was barely enough room on the table for our four meals and 4 drinks. We had to ask for everything, napkins, water, sauce, take home boxes etc. Alert: the 3 cup chicken meal is bone-in chopped thighs. It was very hard to eat because the bone fragments were small. You had to eat it with your fingers to sort out all of the pieces of bone. Flavor was OK, but very hard to eat. We ate our meals in reverse. When the soup and egg rolls came it had to be set on the next table because no room on ours . It sat there getting cold as we ate our entrees. Not what we were expecting, but we enjoyed our having dinner together. Just wanted to give a heads up on what to expect to anyone going there.
As a second generation Taiwanese immigrant, I am pretty critical of Taiwanese food. I decided to give Phusion Cafe a try because my friend spoke highly of it. The interior of the store is a bit sketchy, but the food is very affordable and the service is crazy quick. My boyfriend and I got our food within ~5 min of ordering. We took our meal to go, so the popcorn chicken wasn't as crispy anymore, which put a damper on our dining experience but of course was not their fault. The braised pork was a bit too salty and I felt that the zhajiang noodles could have used more topping (more sauce meat), but overall the portion sizes were good and the flavors were pretty authentic. The seaweed that came with the braised pork was delicious. I couldn't get enough and would order a side of it on its own. Would recommend this spot and will likely be back to try more menu items!
Listen, I know this might sound shocking, but please do not visit this restaurant. The food here is not safe to eat! I have been here twice and both times, the pork had visible hair on it. Even the waitress admitted that she wouldn't eat it. Every time I eat here, I end up with a stomachache afterwards. The food is not fresh at all - I've even had leftovers here before and they were terrible. I don't understand how this place has earned 5 stars, I truly cannot believe it. Save yourself the trouble and steer clear of this restaurant.
