El Vegetariano Consciente

This is a casual all vegetarian restaurant that has a nice selection of fresh foods including soups, salads, tofu dishes, lentils, beans and assorted cooked vegetables. The food is served buffet style where the customer chooses the items that he/she wants and the server places the items on a large plate. I had a varied selection of products and everything was delicious. There are various condiments/seasonings available that one may add to their order. The staff member who served me was courteous and spoke some English. The overall cost of my meal was very reasonable. The restaurant had a casual and relaxed ambience. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to those that enjoy vegetarian meals.

Great to find a vegetarian place in the middle of Panama City where it’s not always readily available. Huge spread of options and very friendly service from the owner.

It's a place that serves only vegetarian meals. Majority of the dishes being vegan. These are pre cooked and displayed. You can choose as, many and in quantities you want. Depending on the choice the cost is assigned by the staff. I had large portions of brown rice, three vegetables, yellow lentils dal and it cost 4 US$. It's mostly plant based whole foods with little ro no oil, I found the food very tasty. I didn't know then, but later learnt I could have requested the staff to warm my food in the microwave behind the staff. There were sweets as well, very nicely prepared with apple and pineapple stuffing inside, about 1 USD each. Excellent value for money but most importantly healthy and tasty.

Unfortunately the food served to me was lukewarm borderline cold. I’m not sure if that’s how it’s supposed to be served but I was a bit disappointed based on the endless reviews. It is buffet style so maybe they need a better heating structure to keep it warm because it was as if the food was sitting out for hours which made me eat 2 bites discard it. They do have plenty of vegan options as the other reviews mentioned it is really cheap/affordable. However, I would advise before you leave to check the temperature of your food so that you aren’t stuck with cold food. If it was warm, I would say that it would be good because the flavors were there but I was too hungry to ask them to make fresh batches of any of the dishes I ordered and left unsatisfied. I hope they do better with keeping the food warm for future customers to prevent any sickness.

This is a lovely little gem in the centre of Panama. It’s an ordinary canteen-style place where locals eat. It’s good value, the staff are efficient and friendly and the food quality/choice is great. I ate there a few times at lunchtime and loved it. Well done guys
