Penumbra Restaurant & Wine Bar

Nice, but not what I had in mind when I wanted to have a chicago steakhouse dinner at my holiday visit. is determined by other shops in logan square with a sophisticated and illuminated interieur. the tables were pretty far apart. as far as food is concerned, there was no overall lack of food. creole garnelen appetizer was delicious and quite a lot for $17. two of them would have made a very beautiful escape. the quality of the meat in the rib-eye-steak entree was missing, however, as did the portion size. tangy sauce on the ribbed eye was very good, but this goes only so far with a slim and slightly fat piece of unfalsed meat. including potato puree and salate were very good. side order of grilled vegetables were good, although not grilled. negroni cocktail was well prepared. server was pleasant, but meek and uninformed. overall we were underwhelmed, although we appreciate the local efforts. as far as our own expectations are concerned, we should have gone to a cheaper steakhouse, as penumbra has written off a weak foot than steakhouse.

The restaurant has a beautiful, warm atmosphere and mood. it is something between imagination and casual. the inner was not much, but it was good for me. the service is definitiw great. our server is friendly, helpful and courteous. we were a group of four when we ate here, and we really loved the whole experience. there were tables that had curtains that are beautiful and great when they want to eat something private sphere, which I think best for every couple. they have a menu with a lot of options that includes vegetarian options. we ate various foods, from appetizers to dessert, and I can only say that everything was good. the seafood and their steaks are the best and are definitiw my favorites from all the food we ate. the dessert, which is a cheesecake, is also great, with a beautiful balance of sweet. Regarding the prices, they are in the round fair and reasonable and definitiw not a bit expensive. their prices are reasonable and worth. this experience I had with this restaurant, is enough to like it. I recommend this restaurant. it has a designated location located on the logan square.

We booked a reservation to this restaurant for our family. We planned to eat our dinner here. We entered this restaurant and the waiter assisted us at our table. They even greet us. They gave us the menu and gave us time to choose what to order. When we said to him what we ordered he left in a nice way. While waiting we called some waiters to take some photos. We thanked him after that. After 20 minutes our order came. It took so long to camw our order since we ordered a lot.Their food was really great and yummy. It came in good plating. The price of it was expensive but worth the price. The staff was great and nice. We will definitely be back here again. We enjoy having it here.

My husband and I came here while visiting Chicago. Our travel agency had recommended some other places, but we canceled and decided this looked like it could be good. It was probably the best meal I’ve ever eaten in my life. My husband and i both did the surf and turf with a ribeye, both came out perfectly cooked and seasoned, with me getting the shadow shrimp and he getting the creole jalapeño shrimp (massive shrimp too- both were incredible). The potatoes were perfectly cooked, and the arugula salad with citrus vinaigrette was just out of this world. I don’t even like arugula and I was still genuinely sad when I finished it- I could eat it all day They also brought out a little cup of some broth, I forget what it was called. But it was phenomenal and an unexpected surprise. We finished with a lava cake of some sort with a raspberry drizzle. I also forget the name because I lost focus after he said raspberry drizzle. I cannot recommend this place enough. I am so sad that it’s not local to me- I will dream of this place until I can one day return! Out of all the places we gave eaten while here, this is the place we will remember forever. Seriously- do yourself a favor a go

I almost cancel the reservation because some reviews said this place is too dark which is not true. You can adjust the table lamp brightness. $25 charge if no show on the reservation.Overall it was great experience. Atmosphere was intimate, friendly service and excellent food and wine knowledge, food was mild flavor for us but came out perfect temperature. Perfect pan seared steak with seasoning crushed tender and juicy. Very good seafood and pasta here as well. Really good list of wine by glass and bottles. Excellent price by bottles as well.Real bargain for us.
