Bidrage med feedbackI used to work as a waiter at this restaurant when I was studying hospitality and catering level 2 last year, so I know the ins and outs of the service. Today, I decided to dine at the restaurant as a customer and I was blown away by the experience. The food was amazing! I had a scotch egg, sweet and sour pork with fried rice, and profiteroles. The flavors were outstanding and the choux pastry in the profiteroles was delicious. The service was good, although they didn't follow the proper serving etiquette I had learned in my training. Despite that, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and will definitely visit again. Thank you to the Princes Room Restaurant for a wonderful dining experience, and hats off to the waiter!
I had a fantastic dining experience at this restaurant, considering that the service was provided by trainees on their hospitality and catering course. We were promptly offered drinks at the beginning of our meal and they made sure to keep our glasses full throughout. The only minor suggestion I have is that a choice of brown rolls in addition to the white ones would be a nice touch. The ordering process was professional, though it might be helpful to inform customers of any items that are unavailable before taking their orders. The food was delicious and well-prepared, making for a lovely afternoon in a pleasant atmosphere. Kudos to the staff and students for their hard work - they should be proud of themselves.
I have dined at this college restaurant for both lunch and dinner in the past, and have always found it to be pleasant and enjoyable. However, my recent visit in January 2018 was disappointing. The service was not up to par, which was surprising to me. There was a lack of energy in the room and our server only informed us of three dessert options, even though there were more choices available that we were not told about. The desserts we ordered were said to be freshly made, but they turned out to be dry and unappetizing, with one appearing to be undercooked. We were not given a dessert menu, which was confusing. It seemed like the young trainees working there needed better guidance and supervision. I may consider giving the Prince's Room another chance later in the year, but it is not guaranteed. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.
We were a group of 19 having a late ‘Christmas’ outing. The restaurant is inside the college, and is run by the students. Parking is available on-site. The students do the cooking and the serving/waiting on. We had to pre-order our food but I think that was because of the size of the group. Booking is recommended as the restaurant isn’t that big (c35 covers? , but there may be availability for walk-ins. A three-course meal plus tea or coffee is £9.50 which is exceptional value. The choice is fairly limited (3 choices for each course , but all cooked fresh and came up nice and hot. The Blood Orange Tart was delicious!! There is a small bar serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. There was a bit of waiting around between courses, and as you might expect, the service wasn’t the greatest, but these kids are learning their trade, doing their best, and can only be commended. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal, and we will definitely be doing it again.
We attended as a group of 20 for lunch and were delighted with the level of service and the food quality. It is excellent value for money.
