Bidrage med feedbackMainly dumplings not good value for money uncomfortably seating, service not friendly, no help with choosing dishes. Very disappointing. Would not go back again.
I have been to Tim Ho Wan, Chatswood five times since it was opened. I quite like the atmosphere now than it was first opened with a long queue of patrons waiting outside. Now I can chat with my family and enjoy my favourite food that I used to have in Hong Kong. I like their baked BBQ pork buns, spare ribs, Siu Mai, egg tarts and rice dumplings best. I like their dim sums fresh and hot. I like their sauces. Their serving staff are really good. They are polite, attentive and professional. They re-check my order so that they are all correct. I observe that they are extremely busy. Hope they can have a bonus from time to time. The only thing I am not very happy with is the tea. I hope Tim Ho Wan can sample a variety of quality tea for us. We are willing to pay more for tasting good tea.
What an absolute let down 5 of us ask for a table half the restaurant empty, but can't be seated there have to wait to reset a tables .. ok we wait Next we had a bottle of wine no you can't byo as we aren't licensed for BYO??...okNext cold tea ... ok Next could we get hot tea and is it bottomless cup yes but never refilled ....Next closing at 9pm at 8.20pm please place orders in as kitchen closes at 8.30pm ... ok we arrived at 7.35 pmNext can we get fresh plates ... ok Finally what I am saying is to many rules and regulations no comparison to to your IFC or mongkok stores in Hong Kong In fact the proof is that even your burwood store hasn't survived and unfortunately you have now lost another 5 patrons and won't be recommending anyone...You should seriously look at your operations in Australia as they are not working I would love to advise as i believe it has so much potential but it needs help It also is so expensive from when you started that I can go to a restaurant not a cafe ( as you seem to be ) and get to sit on chairs for the price we pay and a larger array of food that comes out hot and much more organised This is also because of the Macdonald's theory of employing youngsters does not cut the mustard !!! Especially when they haven't been trained up properly ...Xie xie.
I had heard a lot about this place when it opened and have only just had the chance to eat there. I was really looking forward to something special.Service when we arrived was uninspiring with the waiter showing us our seats and putting a clipboard and pencil in front of us before walking away. We worked it out. After waiting for some time (6 minutes) for someone to take the clipboard I took it to the front desk.Food arrived for my partner and I in no particular order and was nothing that I could not get elsewhere for less $ and almost certainly a smile. Wait staff were impersonal and seemed as though they were just going through the motions.Food is a personal thing but the ribs in black bean were basically a chopped bone with fat,a bit of meat and a little bowl of sauce--if that's what you like then happy days. The Treasures of the Sea congee was just a dish of rice soup with some seafood thrown in.Maybe I was there on a bad day judging by some other reviews but they are only as good as their last job. I will not be back and I suggest you give it a cheap trial before having something substantial there.
We had lunch here. The place is small and clean. The servers were relatively attentive and helpful. But the food is nowhere as great as we expected. After trying Tim ho wan in other countries , the quality and choices here are disappointing to say the least. The pork buns , though tasty were a tad small . The other dimsum were so so. Pricewise, not exactly good value for money! Tsk, tsk.
