The Virginian - Charlottesville

Our friends took us on a tour through UVA and recommended to stop here for lunch. Everything was so good! Service, food and drinks. Portions were pretty good for the amount you pay for it, we don't even have to finish all our foods! Sweet potatoes fries were really good and I loved the Chipotle chicken battle! My husband and our friends have the pig BBQ sandwich and they said it was delicious.

At a time it is difficult to find great customer service, I need to send a scream to Ashley! She was great on a busy Saturday afternoon. She worked at the bar and even when she prepared the drinks for all guests, our service was great when we sat at the bar. Our hamburgers, cheese steak and BLT were amazing. I even had to try the Irish Trashcan drink, which the UVA students highly recommend. Thanks Ashley for a great experience and we will be back next time through the area.

The room is much cleaner than I remember it years ago. The general manager Ashley neigt bar and was very nice. They had a dining room full of very happy males and incredibly happy staff. You could say that people enjoy their jobs that make the experience of all much more fun!

This quaint old restaurant was a delight to dine at. I sat at the bar and never felt neglected by the staff-all of whom were polite, professional, and chill. I might have to come back to Charlottesville to try more items. I got the crab cake sandwich with a side of mac and cheese. Their crab cakes are their pride and joy, and definitely worthy of being so. The sandwich was delicious, the crab was thoroughly cooked, but not dry or crumbly (a complaint I have of most crab cakes). The layers of flavors by spice and sauce made each bite a delightful destination in culinary delicacy. Next time I'm in Charlottesville I'll definitely stop by again for a drink and a bite. Expensive, but 10/10, I'll be back again.
