Bidrage med feedbackI was here a few times and I always loved everything!
We went here last night, as there are no tonne vegan options in charlottesville. it is quite typical Indian dishes, some of which can be veganized. the food we ordered (chana masala and alu gobi) was very oily and unfortunately I made myself quite sick of mine, so I can't give it a big review. it was generally delicious, but nothing impressive. the service was shocked, and we and the table next to us finally went up and asked for our bill because we seemed to have forgotten. it wasn't their best night, so I don't know if I would generalize it that they have bad service from one experience. could have been one. we probably wouldn't go back.
There is a series of options on the menu that they desire to be vegan. the daal was tasteful and the staff was very friendly. the kitchen has a glass wall so that they can see them cook when they want.
This is our one of very favorite restaurants in a town full of great restaurants. The owners even catered are our (buffet style) vegan wedding, which is not something they usually do. The staff is always willing to check an ingredient for you, but the menu items are usual listed as vegan (or vegan option available). Even the lunch buffet has the items notated as contains dairy or not. Very helpful! My favorite item is the Baigun Bharta, and my husband loves the Bhendi Masala. The Kachumbar Salad is not to be missed!
Located on the quieter end of the Downtown Mall (near the Pavilion amphitheater), Himalayan Fusion is great choice for vegans in C'ville. There is a vegetarian section on the menu that includes many vegan options (which are identified). I've been a few times and always enjoyed my meal. The vegetable samosas are also vegan quite tasty. You can dine inside or alfresco (if a table is available). Updated from previous review on Thursday September 04, 2014
