Golden Chef - Chandler

This place was great, I've been going there for 5 yrs. However it got bought out with new owners. Prices have gone up 25%, food is terrible with small portions and God forbid you order online because they have no clue what they're doing. Go at your own risk

The first time I had their chicken fried rice, I thought it was absolutely phenomenal and the best fried rice I've ever had. My husband and son loved it as well and said it was also the best they've ever had! I decided order delivery 2 weeks later and had the pho tai, combination fried rice, and spring rolls. Having high expectations, I was extremely disappointed that their pho broth was severely salty and I had to water it down by half. Their spring rolls were ok, but the combination fried rice was nothing like the chicken fried rice. This time, it was heavily seasoned with pepper which overtook the taste of the meat and rice. I may have just ordered on an off day, but I'm now hesitant to give them another shot.

Best fried rice cake with eggs (bột chiên trứng). Outside layer is crispy and inside is soft and steamy. I think their secret is the balanced thickness of the pieces. Other places where I tried had them too thin so they were hard to bite. The soy sauce has a perfect balance of sugar and vinegar as well. I can definitely come back just for this dish itself.

Phenomenal. I got the Saigon beef with noodles. It's a 6oz filet. Serious surprise at how delicious it was. There's a green chili sauce that's fantastic.
