Irish Democrat - Cedar Rapids

Really nice place. Our waitress (shown in the yellow top) was aces. Good food. We sampled a house specialty cheese filled wontons very tasty. Burgers most excellent. Appropriate social distancing.

Neat location with great food. Large menu with a variety of items. We enjoyed several great appetizers and were pretty full before our order arrived. Everyone loved their food. Unique items and old favorites fill a large menu for a lot of variety. We had a large group that they were able to easily handle with one waitress. This was a great dining out experience.

Overall, the experience wasn't bad. It was fine, other than the hair that was in the dipping sauce for our appetizer. The wait staff was clearly very frazzled (I think we came right after a big rush) and it was hard to flag them down. The food was decent though, no real complaints, it wasn't anything too exciting.

I visited around 12:30pm, meeting 3 others for lunch. Our server was very attentive, and did a wonderful job start to finish. I ordered the Macho nachos, with ground beef. It was a very hefty serving. I liked it, but it was not one of my favorite plate of nachos. Not sure why I was not impressed, but I would not order that particular plate again. Otherwise, we were treated well, and loved the environment. I would return.

The appetizer was good. The beer was good. My fries were cold. My sandwich was horrible. The bread was stale. The chicken salad did not taste good, on the way home I developed terrible stomach cramps and I had diarrhea when I got home. Will not be going back.
