Al Porto - CATANZARO

We went there last year for a pizza after the beach and we were good impressed. So this summer we decided to have a dinner there, with our kids, but we went out disappointed. We had some pizzas and some main courses, no appetizers nor desserts (btw not home made). Not bad the pizza (but a not bad pizza in Italy it means poor quality) but the cookery isn 't adequate. We ordered pasta allo scoglio (more or less Shrimp Scampi pasta) and it was not so tasty, banal and at least not as this kind of dish should be in a restaurant with the sea in front. Nothing more than a fast food quality. Then we had some fried squids and also in this case the quality wasn 't the expected one. Rubbery and egg taste, probably fried in cold oil. The home white wine is terrible, one of the worst I ever tasted in my life, we left all. The service wasn 't so bad but we went very early according to the local dinner time, when the restaurant became full I noticed some problem. Indeed I asked our bill three time without any apparent consideration. After some minutes of waiting I went to pay directly at the cash (sorry for the waiter, no tip). Price right (cheap) considering the food quality.

Un posto molto carino. Fortunatamente siamo arrivati presto e abbiamo trovato subito un tavolo. La pizza era deliziosa, i prezzi vanno da 5€ a 12€... e la grigliata di pesce fresco era davvero ottima. Abbiamo pagato 18€ per la grigliata. Siamo stati serviti da due signore gentili ma molto stressate, probabilmente avrebbero bisogno di un po' di aiuto.
