I used to go in sometimes for bread or some cakes/pastries. Choice was good and often a bit different. as I lived in the area I was able to go frequently
Torrisi's Bakehouse has the greatest range of pies in the district..Being of French origin they also make some of the best french pastries in north Queensland..Definately worth calling in a nd sampling their range of of pies and pastries.
We walked up and down the street to make a choice, Annie's kitchen looked uninspiring, have been to the servo on the corner before which was not that exciting so expected the Bakehouse to do a decent coffee.Unfortunately it was only a bit of coloured water, found out later they use one shot of coffee to make two cups, which makes the investment in a proper coffee machine a waste of money.Tasted like nothing and did not wake me up to continue my journey. The quiche was alright, not good, not bad, although could have been microwaved a bit longer as some parts were still cool
What a rare find to have two nationalities in one bakery. I simply love Italian biscotti, crustoli, amaretto and almond biscuits. I never really noticed it until the Italian flag caught my attention one day. It is easy to go home with a collection of goodies because of the counters filled with yummy homemade variety of delicacies tempting you. Definitely worth a visit.
