La Vecchia Monta - CAMPOFILONE

A genuine Agriturismo run by a fantastic family. Francesca cooks divinely. I recommend the Montoncini and the Tagliata. Yum!!

Una cenaa informale e genuina in un bellissimo agriturismo nella campagna di Campofilone. Gli arrosticini e i tipici maccheroncini al ragù erano ottimi. Il proprietario era molto gentile e cordiale.

This is really worth visiting. First of all, the village is famous for pasta making. I have found found the pasta in London and in New York, all made in a village of a couple of thousand people. This place is outside the village but if you find the village you will see signs. There is another resto in the village which is well rated but personally i find it a little too fancy. Once you get there you'll see that its quite a big agriturismo type place with rooms. It used to be a municipal bull service so farmers would bring their cows and pay a fee for the services of the bull. The owners are the same family but times change and they now run the place as an agriturismo. Like many places there is no menu just a waiter who tells you what to have. The menu is typical with an antipasto of salami, proscuitto etc, cheese with home made relish with figs or kiwi fruit, beans, fried olives and crema and all the usual bits. The proscuitto here is really good. Next they normally have two or three pasta dishes. Must have the maccheroncini with ragu although the others are good this is typical and very very light as well as tasty. If you are unsure of your appetite don't order main course until after the pasta. They are OK with this arrangement. the main course is grilled meat and salad or a tagliata. Desserts are only there if they have time. Eat outside if it's warm as there is a good view over the valley and the horseriding. Prices here are good as it caters for Italians. They speak a little English but its mainly pointing if you have no Italian. The mother who is the cook, speaks French

Un agriturismo di altissima qualità immerso nella natura. Piatti semplici e deliziosi. I Maccheroncini di Campofilone al ragù sono indimenticabili. Il conto è super conveniente.

Our family had a delicious meal with beautiful vista towards Campofilone. The staff were very warm welcoming.
