Bidrage med feedbackI can highly recommend Alfie's Moo Char and Bar for both the quality food and excellent service. The wait staff are friendly and professional and the food was amazing. We ordered the chicken dumplings which were delicious and the steaks with the famous moo jus is a must!!It's in a great location, reasonably priced and byo is always a bonus. Alfie was there the night we went and he was so friendly and kept thanking us for coming - it was great to see that he has an interest in the restaurant and wants to hear about what his customers thought.I would 100% recommend this restaurant and I will be going back.
We had the Seafood platter and would recommend this to everyone who loves seafood. The staff were very friendly and the service was 1st class. Will definitely go back for dinner when we are back in Caloundra.
Our fourth visit to Alfie's and we took family members along after talking up how wonderful it is. Unfortunately this time we were disappointed. Service and staff were as always wonderful. Daughter had the beef burger for $18 which she said was delicious. Son in law husband and myself had the $39 two course lunch. What on earth happened to this? Whilst the quality and presentation and the taste was impeccable the serving size was seriously small. Entree was the beef cheeks. Beautifully cooked, tasty sauces to match, but three tiny slivers on your plate was all you got. Pork belly was the same. I know it's only entree size, but that was more like "taste this" size. Main was chicken and salmon. Salmon was a reasonable size, but very little to accompany it. Chicken was again such a small serving we were left still hungry. Such a shame as we always talk up this restaurant to anyone who will listen. We will return but only to try a lunch time special at a more reasonable price, definitely not the $39 for two courses.
I was staying in Caloundra for 1 night due to a business meeting nearby and was looking for somewhere I could have some seafood for dinner so I read some reviews and decided to try this place. The restaurant is in a good position, right near the esplanade and when I arrived the man himself was sitting outside with friends greeting people as they walked up. I had no reservation which was fine as there was plenty of tables available. Everyone I dealt with was extremely friendly so I take my hat off to Alf for teaching staff how to deal with customers and have the right attitude after all this place would get alot of passing holiday traffic. There were a few small plates of the usual things you find in many restaurants (lemon pepper squid, scallops) and a seafood feast for 2+ people but not many plates of seafood at all if you didn't want to spend $40.Based on this I decided to try the Barramundi which was very good and nicely presented. If I had to be critical at all it would be that there was too much salt on it but that is it. For entree I ordered Alf's special Moo juice with bread and herb butter. A bit of a disappointment for me, the bread wasn't toasted enough for my liking and the moo juice was just gravy in a cow shaped gravy boat. I couldn't understand what the connection with this was. For $11 it didn;t work for me.I noted they have an extensive drinks list and several desserts but I was happy with what I had. I would probably come back here if in the area but wouldn't make a special trip out of it. I had a hard time rating it but I thought the service was enough to give it a better score than it probably deserved.
Took some visiting friends to Alfies in Caloundra as we live there and it was a most enjoyable evening the staff were courteous and the food was prompt and very goodYou do have to book Fridays and Saturdays and we did - got a very nice table on the deck area. If I did have a negative it was the head waiter seemed to change towards us for asking the blinds to be rolled down - it was blowing a gale at the time But all in all it was a good dining experience by all
