Bidrage med feedbackLOVED THE MOST DELICIOUS CEMI AS IN THE WHOLE WORLD JNANANNAHANHAHA I WILL DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED THIS PLACE !!!!
We were waiting to pick up food around the corner so I suggested trying something. L ordered two tacos, steak with potatoes and carnitas. I told L we should just eat it there since cold tacos just don't taste that good. Even with my hair flying all over my face, these tacos were so tasty. Loved the steak and potatoes and the portion of meat was generous and love that it wasn't over seasoned so I added all the sauces on top. The piece of avocado was ripe and was delicious with the taco. The carnitas was really lean so it wasn't my favorite but L had some fattier bits so he said it was really good. 2 tacos was enough to share for a quick lunch. Everything was fresh. The truck was parked right next to Walgreens.
Every time I’m in 90 roosevelt ave I always go to Tia Julia, I will always get a torta, but one time I got rice and beans, there were 2 options, 5$ rice and beans or 10$ rice and beans, both are very cheap but u chose the 5$ dollar rice and beans. When I went into my car, it was so good. Customer service is great they are friendly every single time I come. I definitely recommend coming here.
I been here like 2 times, they have good service, food is good, I like the chicken Milanese camita is very tasty with the homemade jalapeños, but to be honest I like the carrito better I don’t know if is the same owner or same recipes but I like the Tia Julia truck better
I think their lamb barbacoa is something that is truly special, I think it is worth visiting this truck for that one dish alone. The truck is located on on 91st and Roosevelt ave on the Southeast corner right next to Walgreens. The food: Barbacoa Platter- I would give this one dish 5 stars. This a weekend only item, it was so freaking delicious I went 5 weeks in a row. I rarely go to a place and order something multiple times yet I visited and ordered the same thing 5 weeks in a row. This dish was perfect, the lamb was so tender with a slight gamey flavor but it was the right amount. I thought the additions from the wedge of, I believe, queso fresco, the tortillas, pio de gallo, slices of avocado and the slightly grilled onions and jalapenos with a side of smoky beans to go with the rice was amazing. The barbacoa platter is the way to go over the barbacoa taco, I think the platter comes with so much more goodies, the barbacoa taco is good but it is just the tortilla and lamb meat, the platter comes with the rice and everything mentioned above. Red Pozole- I asked and they said this is served on random days but if it is there when you visit, you should order it. They asked if I wanted the green or red version, I picked red because when I think pozole, I think red. Wow was this good, the pozole came with big hunks of pork with a ton of hominy and it came with two flautas on the side. I can't wait to get this again and I would also like to try the green one as well. Cemitas de Carne de Res- Honestly, I first started going here because I heard they were famous for their cemitas and tortas. I thought this was a well made sandwich. I enjoyed the beef cutlet and I loved the queso oaxaca which was like a stringy mozzarella cheese. Everything really worked and I really loved the texture of the bread they used. Guisado de Res- The is was a nice hearty soup, it had nice tender pieces of beef. Overall, it was a good item to get but not the most exciting. Mole Poblano- This was another only weekends item and it was made well. I liked how they use dark meat, it came with thigh in a separate container a leg in a box over rice. I thought the flavor on this was good but I did wish it had a bit less sweetness but I am not a big sweet in my savory, person. Overall, still a solid item.
