Bidrage med feedbackIt was over two years since my friend moved to london and we had eaten our last meal before her move, and planned annual revisits and on the last Friday we had the first opportunity to do this. covud19 and other health problems had prevented previous encounters. we were both not disappointed by the new al a carte. menu I had scallops laughs and profiteroles. my friend had the mushrooms, sweetcakes and made to house brownie. with a bottle procesco was the total bill with service very good. thanks to all those who have stopped eating, will come back soon
Great relaxing breakfast. Had steak eggs with some warm sougher dough cob and butter. Loved it!!! I've never been here before but will 100% go again. The staff are lovely and the gothic period building is stunning. Made my day x
Classy restaurant close to the University. The menu includes many typical dishes with some vegetarian and vegan options available. Particularly recommended the camembert and squid appetizers, the fillet and the pot pie. The price is above average, but it's in line with the restaurant target and the quality of the menu. Staff is great. Totally recommended!
Very lovely, though I feel the food doesn 't meet the standard of the decor. What a lovely place Browns is and it 's a truly lovely place in which to dine and drink. It 's reminiscent of an overseas Empire club from many, many a decade ago, what with it 's lofty ceilings, large windows, impressive lights and grand piano. The food itself is jolly nice, though I 've found after a couple of visits that there 's a certain (pause here for dramatic effect) je ne sais quois missing. My perfectly adequate ribeye seemingly adrift amid an ocean of ceramic plate, accompanied on a seemingly lonesome date with pot of fries; delightful monkfish presented in chunks (it 's a lovely fillet and beautiful when lightly pan fried or poached) atop vegetables including, quelle horreur, broad beans, tantamount to culinary naffness. (Enter name of suitable colourful vegetable here as an alternative). None of my party left unhappy, so don 't get me wrong, as it 's the whole package to be relished, I 'm just saying that for >me< it 's a B on the homework young lad, room for improvement, eh? I 'll be in again next week, regular table please.
Although we started off with a straightforward question about whether they had a reservation, our experience became much more enjoyable thanks to our lovely Kiwi server.
