The ambience at the Tibetan Kitchen was bright and 'happy ' which seems perfect for the cuisine.<br/ <br/ The food was excellent. We had the mixed entree, which includes the tandoori wings (really nice), spring rolls (crunchy and tasty), onion bhaji (which were quite dark and a bit dry as a result), plus the momo (beautifully made).<br/ <br/ The Shakpa soup had some handmade dumplings and was really nicely balanced.<br/ <br/ The prawn curry was zingy and flavoursome.<br/ <br/ Service was a little slow, especially since the restaurant was so quiet. I think Foodora orders and one big takeaway plus prep for the rest of the week may have been taking a bit of priority.
Tibetan Kitchen Petrie Terrace does not disappoint! We had Momos (dumplings), veg spring rolls, Somar (Tofu Curry), Kasiko (Lamb), Goruko (Beef). The tastes in this restaurant are out of this world and really is different to other Asian dishes. We are old fans of this place and the quality and ambience are consistent. The Tibetan rooms with low seating provide a casual but exotic dining experience. 5 Stars from me!
First time diners to this casual and unassuming restaurant which has some character and charm in the decor. <br/ <br/ We were two couples and were met by a lovely hostess who was friendly and polite. <br/ <br/ We shared 2 entrees (chicken pieces and dumpling), 3 mains (chicken, prawn lamb), rice and a Tibetan bread. <br/ <br/ They weren't overly large servings but we all agreed it was just enough for the 4 of us, they were all well cooked and delicious, the meats tender and with our BYO wine we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. <br/ <br/ With the $2.50 pp corkage the bill came to $70 which was good value. <br/ <br/ There is on-street parking outside (except during peak hours). We will definitely return.
Amazing food!. My boyfriend and I had been to Tibetan Kitchen in Fortitude Valley before, and whilst it was quite good, I wasn't truly blown away by it. I think that was more a function of the fact that he ordered something that contained an ingredient I didn't really like. Went to Petrie Terrace TK last night and it was truly awesome. The food is reasonably priced and amazingly delicious. I highly recommend getting a whole tandoori styled chicken because the sauce is simply to die for. The mixed antree sauces are fresh and the chutney is spicy and really delicious. We also ordered a vindaloo which was very good. The whole menu is like taking the things you love about Indian cuisine and just making it more exotic and so much better. I've eaten at a few Nepalese places around the world a particularly good one in Austria but Tibetan Kitchen really does take the cake. Really quiet on a Sunday night which suits me perfectly. I think I'll be going down there on my own more in the future to just enjoy the atmosphere and read a book over some lentils. Excellent.
