Bidrage med feedbackNovember 04, 2009 – I had the ayce crab legs tonight. They were very good but they cut me off at 5 pounds. When I sat down I told the waitress to keep em coming I eat between 15 and 20 pounds of crab.Ok they came and at 5 lbs they said that was it. I was shocked. I asked for the manager. With no signs and the internet saying ayce I was ready to eat at least 15 lbs. You realize 15 lbs is only about 4 lbs of meat. manager said sorry it was 5 lbs and the owner says we have to stop but he gave me a couple extra read more » to make me happy. So I was ripped off at this restauraunt . I paid 25.00 and did not get anywhere full. left very hungry and had to go to taco bell for 5 tacos.now I am not a big man only 6ft 7 275 lb but very slimWhen you see ayce be aware of tiny home town businesses. Also I noticed the menu is very very expensive. In the price range of outback steakhouse 16.00 for coconut shrimp yikesI probably need to go to a big restraunt and not a little town Recommend this review
When our waitress finally appeared to take our food order, we requested the BLT sandwiches and decided to try their clam strips as an appetizer since we love clams. One of the things I appreciate about this place is that the sandwiches are generously portioned, and you get a large side of fries for just $6 — unbeatable! Unfortunately, we didn’t see anyone again until our clam strips were ready. Now, I understand that they were only $7, but everyone knows that overcooked clam strips can ruin a dish. Not only were they overcooked, but they also lacked flavor and were so hard that a fork couldn’t penetrate them. We only encountered our waitress one more time as she rushed by. What happened to good old-fashioned customer service? After finishing our meal, we waited a solid 10 minutes before our waitress finally noticed we were done; apparently, wiping down a table was more important to her than checking on her customers. The restaurant was not even half-full, so the lack of attention was surprising. When she eventually came over, I mentioned the clam strips to her. She dismissed my concerns, saying they weren’t hard and that they were always made that way, all while carelessly tossing pieces back onto the plate. My sister and I exchanged incredulous looks as she walked away. Another employee, dressed in pool shorts and a t-shirt, was trying to adjust the TV nearby. I asked if the manager was available, and he replied that yes, they were there. When I requested to see the manager, he asked, “What do you need?” I inquired if he was the manager, and he responded, “Sort of.” Seriously, either you are or you’re not. Anyway, I relayed our experience with the clam strips to him. He was only half-listening as he fiddled with the TV, but at least he acknowledged the piece I showed him and said he would have her remove it from our bill. While the sandwich was great, the service was disappointing, which is very important to me. My sister and I work hard for our money, and we understand that sometimes things might not be cooked perfectly in the restaurant business. However, providing good service, checking on customers often, and ensuring customer satisfaction should be a priority. Sadly, I don’t think I’ll be returning here as frequently in the future.
The food was amazing!!! The waitstaff was very friendly and efficient, and the prices were great!!! Their steaks and seafood are top-notch, and they also offer Italian and Mexican dishes. The jerk-spiced wings are superb, and I keep going back time after time, eagerly anticipating my next visit!!!
As a middle-aged guy weighing 220 pounds, I was more than satisfied with their generous portions, even without ordering appetizers or beer. Speaking of beer, Oaks offers one of the best selections of craft beer on draft that I've seen around Brandon. If you can visit during happy hour, you’ll find some fantastic deals on quality brews. My wife and I have been on the lookout for a local spot where we can enjoy great food in a pleasant environment (though we’re still getting used to all the Pittsburgh Steelers memorabilia since we’re Bills fans), and we’re happy to say we’ve found that at The Oaks. It's also a nice touch to see the owner actively engaging with customers. Josh, the owner, was present during our visit and took the time to chat with us, especially when he learned we were new to the area. The staff was just as welcoming. From my experience, you can learn a lot about a restaurant by getting a glimpse into their kitchen. During our last visit, we sat at a table with a direct view of the kitchen. The staff was always conversing with one another and never seemed rushed; they were clearly enjoying their work while efficiently getting plates out to customers. It was nice to see that level of enjoyment and camaraderie among the team. We’re looking forward to trying something new on our next visit, as their menu is quite extensive, which can be both a blessing and a challenge. I’ve heard the burgers are massive, but I’m not really a burger person. The steaks looked incredibly tempting, but (if I may say) I’m not really a steak guy either— I’ll leave that review to my wife.
