Bidrage med feedbackDespite living in Bondi for months, I had never been to this place. It would appear the locals feel a similar way, as it never looks full. I was prepared to put that down to the locals being so white that they were too busy getting sleeve tatts and practicing their pronunciation of "quinoa" to worry about Indian food. Ordered chicken tikka and curry fish for entrées and soon discovered why I'd never ordered fish from an Indian before. All I could taste was batter, and I'm sure there's a joke in there that involves cricket and oral sex. But that would be about as funny as the fish I ate. The main, however, was almond pumpkin lamb. And this was good. Quite good. The lamb may have been slightly tough, but the gravy was delicious. The lady had eggplant something-or-other. I lost interest at the word "eggplant". But, like a brave frontline trooper, I tried the gravy and it was actually tasty. Didn't bother with the eggplant, as I am not a maniac. The naan and rice and pappadums were all standard and ok. This place was certainly not bad. But it didn't inspire or demand interest. There are certainly better Indian places (see my review of Faheem's in Newtown), but I'm sure there are worse. Come here, if only to escape the throngs of Bondi people with their Lorna Jane yoga-pants and NY caps. Just don't expect too much from the food. Service was decent yet unimpressive.
Nice big Indian restaurant in the little restaurant hub at the top of Bondi. We had a big group and this was the only place we could fit and I am glad we went - friendly service and good food
So many great restaurants in Bondi it is hard to choose where to go sometimes. Went there last Friday and got a table straight away. It is nice not to have to wait for a table and the food came out fast which was lucky because we were hungry.
The restaurant looks inviting, good service from the handsome Caucasian man! Food was hit and miss. We ordered the beef vindaloo and eggplant curry. The vindaloo was too red and the taste was average. The eggplant curry was great though!
I'm a massive Indian foodie and it is pretty good Pros - good quality ingredients - good location - Flavour is pretty westernized but depending on what you get tastes pretty good - Colourful restaurant - Serves alcohol Cons - had better indian before -small bowls
