Bidrage med feedbackI had gone several times in Tomi Bjorck’s restaurant Bronda in Helsinki, so I was really excited about going to Blanca. We were 3 guests. We chose the 7 course menu. The food was excellent. I liked the mix between Japanese food and Mediterranean influences. Some would say there’s not enough to eat... I was full by the 5th dish! The decor is really cool. Very Nordic/Scandinavian design, very comfortable. Service was great.
Put European style, Japanese flavours and top Australian produce in a bowl, whisk it around and you get Blanca – Bondi's sophisticated bar and restaurant on Hall Street.
Great place and well balanced aromen. modern Australian with a Japanese Asian swirl, yum! the second time, favorite fish dish was replaced, that was kind of sad.
I wish I could give 4.5 stars, but I can't. there is something special in blanca, they can feel it when they go and see, the quiet dedicated kitchen staff focuses on their work intensely. the oysters and scallop-sashimi were our appetizers, and both were fresh and full of taste. the ochsentailed noodles are an absolute winner, fully tenderly shredded meat in a delicious sauce, and they will probably find that they order a second round of these small beauty. also the black bunk with crispy soft shell crabs and xo mayo is another for the highlight roll. while the portions could be larger, the talent in the kitchen is easily recognizable and makes for the smaller sizes.
Where do I start with blanca? the atmosphere, service and eating get big ticks from me. east meets west never seen or should I say so well tasted. Finnish chef tomi bjorck and local chef sam cole pull together a menu that is exciting, creatiw and daring delicious!
