The best Mexican food by for an KC. Been going there aince 1975.

It's been a number of years since I have visited. The service and the atmosphere was just like I remembered, kudos. The food was decent but a little bland. The salsa though, was horrible, tasting like watered down ketchup, and the green sauce was just passable with way too much vinegar. Might go back, but probably not.

Got the worst food poisoning of my life from the chicken here. 8 hours of throwing up and ended up at the hospital because of it. Called to warn the restaurant and 2 different people fought me saying it was not from Ponak’s even though that was the only meal I had that day. Never going back.

You can't go wrong with Ponak's! I've been going there for over 20 years

Ponaks is a Kansas City tradition! Absolutely everyone must go. Best margaritas around authentic Mexican food excellent service.
