Bidrage med feedbackBest burger I tried in berkeley. for meat lovers, but of “happy cows”! and at a very reasonable price for berkeley. bonsu, the owner and chef, seems very passionate about her project!
Best breakfast sandwich in the East Bay. I have only tried the spam w/nori and I keep meaning to try another but the spam option always lures me back. [Edit 1-12-2020] I have now tried the corned beef breakfast sandwich and it affirms my original claim. Best breakfast sandwich in the East Bay! This time I really noticed the quality of the roll. It tasted like a homemade Parkerhouse style roll, fluffy and sweet. A perfect complement to the runny yolk of the egg.
This pop-up is great for a trendy breakfast sandwich. Our food tasted great and was not too expensive. Get a coffee at the main bar while you wait! Only reason for not giving a 5 star rating was that it took an hour to get our food. Apparently they ran out of some ingredients and had to go get more. An hour wait is a bit much for 2 egg sandwiches. I think they need to re-prioritize and give folks sitting in the restaurant 1st instead of filling all the to-go orders. Watched at least a dozen to-go's go out while waiting for ours. Also, please let folks know if you run out of something or that it will take 2-3x as long.
You really have to move in the morning to catch this breakfast pop up in the Chick's and Tea location. They sometimes sell out at 9:30am. But, if you catch them you will be rewarded with a tasty breakfast sandwich and a strong cup of coffee. This place is worth getting up for if you like things delicious and simple. This place has moved to Blackwater Station in the Temescal. It was a great move. The atmosphere is much more pleasant. The breakfast sandwiches were always great so no problem there, and now you can get a good cup of coffee too.
Deduction of stars are based on these guidelines: Wait time: how long did it take staff to acknowledge? Food taste: good or no? Cleanliness: sticky tables? Dishes? Service behavior: Attentiveness, tack = Wait time: Terrible! Were they waiting for a hen to lay the eggs? While we were able to place an order almost immediately, we had to wait 36 minutes for food in a nearly empty restaurant. There were only 3 couples there before us, and 15 minutes in one of the couples there before us were just now being served. Hangry is unfortunately a real phenomena, so a star was knocked off because of this. Food: fantastic! The eggs were nice and runny, food was served exceptionally hot. Cornbeef sandwich and ham sandwich were lit. Also the French toast bites were great with the syrup not too overly sweet. Cleanliness: it was alright, the restaurant is located in a bar so about as clean as you would expect a dive bar to be. Service: unfortunately since the wait time was awful, I would knock a star off for since staff would not check up on the 4 tables there. Overall 3 out of 5 , while good I'm not sure I would go again.
