Paul's Cafe Bedford

When I visited, I was constantly pushed out of the way by staff and the manager, as well as delivery men. Maybe I didn't time my visit well, but it was fairly irritating. Nice coffee, in a proper large cup and saucer. Good location, quiet café, and average food and drink prices.

Had a great cup of coffee and the best bacon sandwich! Waiter very friendly and place is clean. Made sandwich just to my liking. Waiter asked if I wanted garnish which I hate and some places just plonk it on your plate! Will be going back there next time I am shopping in Bedford.

Good choice on the menu and we had a very good BLT sandwich and tea in the café. The bacon was freshly cooked; you can watch it cooking if you want to! Bread fresh and came with a large salad and coleslaw. Plenty of seating and toilets available. Friendly staff.

I had to sit down so I went in and had a lovely coffee and toast. It was fresh and the toast was served so I could butter it myself . I like my toast crisp and warm not soggy and it was perfect with jam. I think they were short staffed as I was apologised to for it being a bit late . I don't think a few minutes is too bad but they seemed to be a bit flustered by this. I've been for lunch too and all served within 10 mins of arrival very fresh and plenty . I had baked potato with cheese and coleslaw and it was good quality cheese and coleslaw . With a side salad all very reasonably priced. It's clean warm and friendly. The menu is also takeaway and I can recommend the french stick which is fresh baked so warm and cheese sort of melts into it along with fresh tomato very moreish. They seem to know their regulars and I was made welcome. I usually use takeaway but would go for sit down again.

This is a nice little place tucked away in an arcade. Staff are friendly, helpful and speedy. The food is fresh, well cooked and hot and reasonably priced...they do a good cup of tea but the cups are a bit heavy! I feel that the decor needs brightening up....brown,grey, beige...how about using a bit of bright colour and giving the staff coloured t shirts....and try some brighter lighting. Sorry to be so cheeky but the feel of a place is so important.
