Bidrage med feedbackI love Jackalope's View and Acrher's Inn. And yes, I am very biased since this was the venue of my wedding reception. First to review, the restaurant: the location is beautiful, and is very much...on the side of a mountain. Parking is tight especially if there is a crowd, but that is just how it is. The restaurant has a nice low key ambiance about it and is what I would consider upscale casual. The price range is toward the medium high range, but the food is delicious and I have never had a problem here. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive. I am not big wine connoisseur, but they do have an extensive and impressive looking array of wines. This is my ideal go to spot for special occasions. My favorite items on the menu and highly recommended are the crab cake appetizer and the filet mignon with the tobacco onion demi-glace. I love these menu items so much that they were part of my wedding reception menu! As for the wedding, the reception went off without a hitch and all thanks to the management and staff of Jackalope's View/Archers Inn! From the beginning of the planning process to the very end, everything was great and I cannot say enough about how appreciative I am. For appetizers there were delicious mini crab cakes and a cheese/fruit tray which was placed on the bar. After everyone was seated there was a choice of mixed green salad with choice of dressing or Jackalopes Caesar, then all guests had a choice of Grilled 6oz NY Strip with tobacco onion demi-glace, Stuffed Chicken, Shrimp Ziti Pasta, or Vegetarian Pasta Primavera. All were delicious, Chef truly out did himself! All of my guests had such a wonderful time and we all had so much fun celebrating at the Vault Bar upstairs until the early morning. We don't get to visit nearly as much as we would like! Second review the Inn: The rooms range in price according to the views they offer and other amenities. If you are going to be in the mountains don't cheap out, get a room with a view! We stayed in the Roof Garden room. The balcony is HUGE and boasts a hammock and hot tub. The rooms, while a little out dated, are clean and comfortable. The Inn keeper is very friendly and was super accommodating to all of our requests. Guests of the Inn and Lodge get complimentary breakfast in the restaurant. Breakfast is delicious! They give you a breakfast menu to choose from and I highly recommend the French toast. Archers Inn also offers a variety of luxury cabin rentals. Out of town family members rented the Fox Pointe 9 and the Blackberry Cabin. Both cabins were clean and very luxurious. The rates were very reasonable and the location is beautiful. We will definitely be back!
Great view with a fancy menu and cool wine bar BUT THE WORST SERVICE EVER RUDE, SHORT AND FULL OF ATTITUDE NOT WORTH IT
We stayed at Archers Inn and had one dinner at Jackalopes. I must say the food was very good. My wife had onion soup which was nicely prepared and loaded with croutons and cheese. I started with the Texas chili which had nice chunks of beef and just enough spice to make it interesting. For the main course we had Wiener schnitzel and pork loin roast. Both were prepared well and very tasty. The veal could have had a little less breading but none the less it was very tasty. All in all a very good meal with great views. Oh yeah, nice size portions too. A little pricey but the views are worth it.
Massive waste of money. Cafeteria grade food at exotic prices. But guess what? There ain't my much else in this town! Also....got run down by an angry dog on the way back to our car in the parking lot. Who needs desert!?
No idea how this place has more than 1 star. Had a family gathering for thanksgiving break this year at beech mountain and assumed this place would live up to the 4 star review. Needless to say, the pancakes were awful, the eggs were runny (when asked to be over easy), and the contents in the omelette were cold. We were greeted by a women on her phone and told to report to the bartender who apparently was doing everything that day. Not sure if he was the only one manning the kitchen, but it seemed like it. Nothing against him because he was obviously trying to satisfy the group but there were 2 other groups that were served before us and 1 group that left without being seen. I highly recommend you drive the extra 30 minutes to the nearest McDonald 's and order the hot cakes platter.
