Golden Ponds Restaurant - BALDIVIS

I had lunch today at this restaurant and ordered the chicken wings with buffalo sauce. I was not aware that it was very spicy, but the management quickly noticed and replaced my order with BBQ sauce. The service was excellent, and I had a wonderful meal in a great location.

My son and I spent a few hours fishing here and then grabbed lunch at the GP Cafe. We have no complaints at all. The service was efficient and friendly, and the meals were excellent. My son quickly devoured the Red Spot Imperial, and my vegetarian pizza was very tasty. The prices were also very reasonable. I highly recommend this restaurant to others.

The manager asked me not to leave a negative review about the Christmas in July lunch, so I won't go into detail. However, the experience was terrible and surprising that the staff still served the meal without embarrassment. We didn't complain on the day to avoid embarrassing our host, but we decided to email the restaurant directly in hopes they would improve before serving other customers. We were aware the buffet was not available the day before, but $40 for a 3-course meal and a Christmas cracker was expensive. The restaurant wasn't busy, so there shouldn't have been pressure in the kitchen. The only solution offered was to come back and try again, with no credit, refund, or concrete plans for improvement. After waiting for a week, I decided to write this review. If you plan to visit, call ahead to check if the chef is back from vacation and hope for the best.

Went with family for lunch. Ordered the special crayfish chips and salad. Would have to be the worst $39 I have spent. Crayfish was so over cooked it was like paste, Vegetable soup was bland and without flavour, Bar service extremely slow, the other meals...of steak and Barramundi also average. Not a place I would personally go back to.
