Sumpter Junction - Baker City

I have been coming to this restaurant since I was a child. I am so sad to hear that they are permanently closed. I loved their food, the atmosphere, the staff, and best of all, the little train that travels around the building.

I went there as a kid to watch the go by, and as an adult I ate there for sentimental reasons because of their , until the prices went up I hardly ate there until (I COVID-19) it closed down it was to see a sentimental icon be gone: it is what it is.

During our vacation in Baker City from Portland, Oregon, we decided to stop by this restaurant on June 18, 2021, as we were heading back home. Unfortunately, we found the restaurant to be closed and empty. It seems like it may be out of business. We were extremely disappointed.

I absolutely love the model train that runs around the restaurant! I'm so happy we took the time to visit and enjoy this place!

I've always had a great experience in this place. The service is great, I feel welcomed every time we go in. The food is consistent and comes out fresh, hot and in a timely matter...great place to take the whole family.
