Imperial Hotel - Bairnsdale

Had a Ribeye on the bone, the quality of the meat was superb and it was cooked to perfection. Not expensive either. Will be back.

I ordered garlic prawns as an appetizer and pizza as my main dish. Both dishes arrived at the same time, so I ended up taking them to go and eating them back at my hotel. The restaurant definitely has a local feel to it, and while I didn't feel unwelcome, I did feel a bit out of place. The food was decent, and the friendly bartender made me feel welcome. They also have a cool electronic score dart board in the back, which I found fascinating. Overall, it's a place you would go with a group of friends or if you're a local (or if there are no other options open in town).

Very disappointing. The owner is extremely rude, our first time going to this business and we asked a few questions to find out how things worked and the owner just became really rude about it as if we were demanding something. Spoke to a few other people and they said he's like that almost all the time. Will never go back.

Had the parmigiana deal that comes with schooner of beer $15, served with chips and salad, delicious. Friendly publican and atmosphere, a good find.

My partner and I decided to call in for lunch. Welcomed by friendly publican, who took our order promptly. Got 2 chicken parmis and schooner for $15. They came out and they were the real deal, beautifully cooked not deep fried. The sides were great too. The publican even gave us each a complimentary TAB trifecta at Flemington. Very smart as we stayed a while longer to watch it. Overall very relaxed pub, good food and drink. Surprised it was not busier. We have found a little gem and will definitely return. Do yourself a favour and call in for lunch.
