Koi Hibachi&sushi - Augusta

Making a reservation is absolutely pointless. We had a reservation of 8:30 and on arrival in the restaurant, there were 6 more 8:30 reservations. This led to our waiting an hour

Reservations from 8:00 were canceled by Koi without notice. That included ours. We had no notice of cancellation and got there 7:45. We were put on a very long list to wait. There were people with 7:00 reservations that haven't been sitting yet when we went 8:20. If they are not able to honor reservations, they need to remove as available for reservations. While we love Kois Essen, I think this was not a good business move.

They were very busy tonight but the food was still wonderful. Can’t complain!

They don’t have enough staff or cooks to keep up with weekend volume. Checking in was a nightmare even with a reservation because the front person was out walking around doing the seating for the entire darned place. For example, a 6:30 reservation only had us acknowledged at 6:50, and then seated at 7:10, so what’s the point? We were there for almost three hours and had one set of beverages refilled, and the food took a literal eternity to come out. Flip side, the waitress was wonderful. The food was amazing too, which I’m thankful for. Booth was nice (if you get the ones without the lamp cover, it’s like the sun is hovering 12 inches from your face, lol). It’s definitely an OK place, and really really clean, even in the public areas, just everywhere else’s service is way better for probably 20% less the price too.
