Au Cochon Prieur - Aubeterre-sur-Dronne

Beautiful village restaurant with good local rate. we had the beef casserole for two with a carafe of delicious local wine. service friendly and good English.

This was our first visit to auberterre since the move to frankreich and thus our first visit to the restaurant that was recommended to us. it is a very traditional menu, but the quality of the products and preparation was excellent. my wife chose the. speciality pork knuckle and was very grateful for the dame that served us for a starter was not necessary. actually it wasn't like the ankle was huge, but very tasty. I had the tournedos rossini, which was also quite large, but nicely tender. I just managed a desert that was a delicious homemade cake. we will return later this year

A favorite of a place with a very quiet terrace in the shade with water has large fishing that our collie kept at use. eating was extraordinary, they try the pork, they don't need to eat again for a week or so, but. it is worth the challenge. service very good, beautiful host who do not speak perfect English, as so many others do, what is a joy for us as we have to practice our french a little. we tried a selection of desserts, not only those that were confusing during the ordering, but there was no rigidity or murmelting, as we sometimes experienced when we were away from the set menu. I loved it here, the ambiente was good and we had a very pleasant evening.

We had a good lunch here. The service was excellent and very friendly. The dishes appeared all homemade and there was an interesting selection. All the other customers were French which is always a good sign. We will be returning.

We have been there last Saturday. Lately arrived, we have been very warm welcomed by the house mistress. Excellent food, mostly home made and realy fresh and tasty! We do recommend this place as o é of the best, if not the best in Aubeterre...Sur Drone!
