As a visitor to Brazil, I am easy to impress with Churrascaria. My experience in the States is with the American versions, which never rise to Brazilian standards. Churrascaria Grill Sul was solid. The meats and salad bar was extensive and delicious. I especially appreciated the various lamb offerings. I was a bit surprised at the casual nature of the restaurant, given the quality of the food. Lots of families eating here. It wasn't distracting, just different than my American experience. I found the waitstaff very attentive and courteous. I would definitely return. Oh yes--get the papaya creme at the end. Great way to end such a meat-intensive feast.
Grill Sul has the basic ingredients of your average Brazilian churrasco: large salad bar, a wide variety of grilled meats, and even a decent price for an all-you-can-eat dinner. My regret, however, came the next day in the form of stomach and GI pains symptomatic of food poisoning. It could have been the mayonnaise in the potato salad, under-cooked fish, or perhaps something else, but the timing suggests that Grill Sul was the culprit. My only other complaint (or suggestion for the restaurant) is that their servers seemed more obnoxious than what is normally the case at a churrascaria. Non-stop offerings of meat are expected, but a couple of the servers wanted to offer longer explanations or even jokes. If I were alone, that is one thing, but with a group, it is an unwanted distraction.
