Maria's Mexican - Atchison

Started with jalapeño Mac Cheese balls. Initially underwhelmed, because the sauce was cold and the cheese balls similar. Thought I might burn the roof of my mouth with deep fried cheese. But No. the cold sauce had all the heat I could enjoy. My Enchiladas Jayhawk was another positive surprise. Shrimp, scallops and crab meat in three rich covered enchiladas had me appreciaung all immigrants. The only criticism I could muster was that the chips had an odd taste, almost old.

Extremely slow. We were the only table there and it took 40 minutes for our food to come out. One order was wrong. The ground beef is very greasy. Sticker shock on the total. Will never go back.

Chips are amazing (just add some salt) salsa is nice and chunky but needs a little zip...just add the guac dip that comes with the chips! We went in for lunch on a Sunday. Only two servers but they seemed to have a handle on it. Our server was great, but we had to wait for refills on our drinks and chips because she also was the hostess. We enjoyed out tacos they were great. It was accompanied with rice and beans. The rice was delish but the beans needed a little seasoning. Thought the sign for the upgrade in price for chicken belonged on the menu and not the window as you come in the place. Nice place, come in and give them a try!

Great Food, great margs, great times. Who loves margaritas? These guys. Highly recommend, can't go wrong with Maria's. 5 stars
