Been here twice and each time they had great cheese selections. We have has a cheese plate with a sample of cheeses, olives, crackers,bread, and almonds. This with a nice glass of wine make for a great appetizer or light meal. The owner is very nice and we learned that the location only makes money on the cheese. We recently had the honey mustard, Gouda and then goat cheese fudge. All very good. The plates were about $8 each.

Cheese plate trois fromage was wonderful. So good we went back again. You can have a light meal of cheeses, meats, crackers and bread with wine and a very interesting conversation. Give it a try if you love cheese especially!

We stopped in here waiting for the place next door to open. The Cheese Shop has several taps, all but one or two from local breweries. We had a two cheese plate (one meat and one cheese, actually) which came with fresh grapes, dried fruit, warm bread, crackers and corn nuts. The aged cheddar and Italian meat (can't remember its name) paired nicely with the Firewater IPA and an amazing Kolsch from French Broad brewery. The service was great and very informative, though we were there during off hours between lunch and dinner time. This was a perfect light, late lunch and we never did make it to the place next door.

Here on our honeymoon- want to keep it local so we ordered the yocal local cheese plate. Delicious assortment of cheeses plus generous assortments of accompaniments. I had a glass of wine while the new hubby ordered a pint of local beer. Nice wine and beer selection too. And the staff is very friendly and customer focused.
