Bidrage med feedbackThis restaurant is great. The atmosphere is relaxing and cozy and the food is consistently spectacular. There is no other restaurant in Asheville. The taste profiles are unique and tasty and the portion sizes are satisfactory. I would recommend this place for anyone who wants to enjoy a fine culinary experience with a pleasant atmosphere.
The golden fleece slow earth kitchen is a welcome addition to Asheville restaurants. The hotel is located in a large old building, used to be the Grovewood Cafe that we loved, now a large Greek restaurant with some beautiful turns. Bright sunny and very pleasant from the moment when you have many charming little surprises such as unmatched cutlery, plates and dishes, seat, lamps and so on. Service is welcoming, congenial and charming. Food is spectacular with beautiful spins on preparation and presentation. The Broken Spanakopita $9 and the Open-Fire Lamb Gyro $16 are plentiful and tasty. Full bar with a Greek take on top shelf brand cocktails $13 and $15, and great selection of wines through the bottle $36 and glass $8. Lunch for two with three dishes, without drinks was $37. Our new favorite special place, highly recommended, give it a try and enjoy!
Can be the best meal we ate in Asheville and we were in all the best restaurants! And magnificent decoration and service. A special occasion!
Experiences and success shows in Giorgio's new Asheville Venture. Gold Fleece will certainly take its place among Asheville's best restaurants. The food: Amazing Octopus slowly boiled for 7 hours and finished over an open wood fire, Red Snapper perfectly prepared and presented (head for you cheek lovers). Traditional Baklava also surpassed by ladies in the Greek Orthodox Church during the Greek festival. We had handcrafted cocktails without the hipster setting, attentive, but not intrusive service, perfectly matched delivery of the different courses, and an all-round wonderful culinary experience. You don't have to go downtown and be treated like a tourist to get good food more. Thank you, Mr. Bakatsias.
Wow! My husband and I dined at the Golden Fleece for our anniversary and it was wonderful! First, the restaurant is gorgeous, outside and in. From the art work on the walls to the blue bottles on the tables- everything is beautiful. Our server, Charlie, was a sweetheart. Lastly, the food- everything was so tasty and well prepared. The spreads, greek salad, spanakopita, and brussels sprouts were amazing! What a feast! We ended with the brulee cheesecake. All was perfect! If we lived in the area, this would be a regular spot for us. Can't wait to return!
