Rooster Creek Tavern - Arroyo Grande

Our first time in this new restaurant in “Old” Arroyo Grande, California. Beautiful ambience – friendly staff. Parking is at the front with more abundant parking spaces. Avoid the seats on the front door when it is a cool breezy day, as it is a large folding door that opens to the outdoor dining terrace that leaves the wind directly in and can make a beautiful lunch upright. I had her hamburger with cheese (a Cheddar-Jack-Kombo cheese) and I must say the first bite was terrible good - and it went so far to the end and I found myself on the plate when crumbling. With the Hamburger I had Cole Slaw and it was fine – not to write at home, but OK. The service was very good and our server held four times at our table during our meal to check and see that everything was okay. We also had an appetizer that was not very inspiring, but I starved so I ate about half of it. It was chips and guacamole and good, it just didn't do much for me. My wife had a BLT and told me how delicious the bacon was until I stopped it. She went to the powder room and I resistance as long as I could and then took a big chomp from her remaining half of a sandwich. I have to say the BLT was above the top. Pretty delicious and the Jalapeño Bacon has added a nice kick. We'll go back to dinner soon.

Avoid the seats by the front door if it is a cool breezy day as their is a large folding-door that opens to the outdoor dining patio that lets the wind right in and can make a nice lunch downright dreadful. I had their hamburger with cheese (a cheddar-jack combo cheese) and I have to say the first bite was awfully good – and it continued that way until the end and I found myself picking at the crumbs on the plate. With the hamburger I had Cole Slaw and it was OK – nothing to write home about but OK. Service was very good and our server stopped by our table four times during our meal to check and see that everything was alright. We also had an appetizer which was not very inspiring but I was starving so I ate about half of it. It was chips and guacamole and well, it just didn’t do much for me. My wife had a BLT and kept telling me how tasty the bacon was until I couldn’t stand it any more.
