ORSO - Anchorage

Alaskans do it big. Orso is a charming, elegant restaurant in anchorages small city. everything is covered here, from cocktails to the main dish. there are only a few stereotypical Italian menu elements, such as ossobucco, but many of the other Entree options have a twist to them that is easy nouveau. the service at this location is perfect. the waiting staff is friendly and professional. eating is delicious and a bit expensive, but it is worth the cost.

Good food, server was a bit odd. We really enjoyed our dinner at Orso. We had the silver salmon and seafood gemelli. The kitchen split it for me and my wife, which was very nice as it saved some work and it had a wonderful presentation. Our server was generally a nice guy, though he could improve his listening. He offered unsolicited advice that we didn't really need or want and, although we often enjoy playful banter with our servers as restaurants, there was something about the way this server did it that did not click for us. He also took a long time to come back to us each time. Perhaps this was due to his having a lot of tables but we weren't sure about that. He was just one server and others probably are just fine.

Pretty restaurant but the service was just ok and the cod dishes were kept under a heat lamp while the salmon was prepared so the cod was over-cooked. And the panzanella salad overdressed. Disappointed that your website menu was not up-to-date.

The food, service, and place was awesome! It’s a bit pricey, but worth it

We had a great meal. Our family was here from out of state and wanted seafood. You delivered! The salmon and halibut were so good! Our waiter Nick was outstanding!
