Green Duck Thai - Amberley

Really nice food. Could do with some atmosphere but if you're keen for a feed on the road and near Amberley this place is well worth it. .... Later addition to the original review. We've driven through Amberley quite a few times since looking for food and they never seem to be open.

I've been eating here for the past 4 days for dinner. And after writing this review, I'll be eating there again tonight for dinner. I found myself in Amberley not realizing that the bus system here is not as convenient for a non-driving solo traveler like myself as I thought. Most places close pretty early, but this gem not only is open later, but the ambience is colorful, clean, and bright, customer service is so efficient and yet very warm and hospitable, they always get my order right and the food is incredible! Best Thai food I've ever had and I'm from San Francisco, CA where we have a plethora of quality international food. Even better yet, ALL dishes can be made to be vegan, except some of the ice-cream choices. But they have a homemade coconut ice-cream that is like a really good, thick sorbet with passionfruit and berry sauce options that are amazing! If you're passing through Amberley, definitely stop by here for a delicious, fresh, and healthy meal!

The best Thai Food in South Island. It is a must if you visit the town. Exceptional quality of food. I'm a real fan of the Crispy Pork, a special dish that is not in the Menu Great atmosphere.

Clean restaurant, good service and the food was extremely fresh. Probably one of the best Thai meals I have had in a long time. Well done.

Great Thai food. You can take in your own dinner plate and have your meal put on it to take home if you want (we've done it). Looking forward to going there again.
