Bidrage med feedbackOur Palermo city guide recommended to go to this historical place and we enjoyed it. Waiters work really fast, they are polite and attentive. The hostess is colder, ignores even “buongiorno”. We took 2 traditional local arancini which were really good, some great focaccia with onion and salad with swordfish. Everything was delicious!
I've been to this place for many years and everytime I'm back in Palermo, i always make a stop here. The focacceria is historically significant not only for its food but also as a symbol of fight against the local mafia and I always like to support it by buying a sandwich once or twice per year. In the last few years however, the prices have becoming exorbitant compared to the norm in Palermo and it feels a bit of a tourist trap. However, the food is still of high quality and it has become part of the landmark of the city, so I still enjoy to come.
You'll love this place if you like restaurants that forget that you ordered food. Then an hour later when they admit they forgot it and you cancel it and ask for the bill, they rush it out and charge you...Even though you never ate it and JUST told them to cancel it. After going back and forth with the waiter and his manager, I just paid the bill and decided to accept getting ripped off. I over paid 25 euro and I told them before, during and after as they scammed me... they were intent on ripping me off and didn't care. Of the 25+ countries I've visited, I've never been scammed like that. They must have heard my American accent, seen me on Google maps navigating my wife and toddler through the alleys of palermo and saw a weak animal perfect for the kill. I only wish I would have stood my ground as an example for my toddler. Well they got me, and they'll get you too.If you think the bad reviews are from people being overly picky, you're wrong. Shame on them, but karma has a way of setting things straight.
I hope I was unlucky to find the most rude person in their club. arancino without infamy and without praise. I think the best tasted in a palermo. It's a shame.
