Bidrage med feedbackGreat service and very good food. We'll be back!If you're in Almonte, I really suggest you try this great bistro restaurant.
As an indigenous person, I was vaccinated early in Ontario while being a Quebec resident. The government has yet to set up a process where people in my situation can get their QR code as proof of vaccination. This has not been a problem as the government provided proof of vaccination has been sufficient at every other establishment. My partner and I made a valentines day reservation at Loom Bistro but were asked to leave our seats as I could not provide a QR code. This was very embarrassing and sadly out of our control. Its sad that the government continues to fail indigenous people and that institutions fail to support us.We did not get to try the food, but the staff were really unhelpful. I would not recommend supporting this business for these reasons. My partner and I walked to another local restaurant and were seated and treated properly.
Checked online and was directed to text a take out order, sent a text and got no reply. Not a big deal, we ate elsewhere. Staying at the Inn where Loom is located....thought hey, why don't we order a little dessert, you know support a local place all other reviews were great. Called and NOPE was told that they can't do takeout tonight, really? Really? You couldn't toss a couple slices of pie or cake in a box. Not very impressive.
Another fine dining experience. All the dishes our party ordered were timed perfectly. The layers of flavours were well thought out. Was so happy to get out and enjoy it during this pandemic.
The setting is very scenic (not to mention, historic) and the food is fabulous although portions are on the skimpy side. I ordered the fish tacos and was presented with 2 small tacos I could have easily eaten at least 3. Friendly staff. I would recommend trying this place but eat a little something beforehand.
