Auguste - Aix-les-Bains

We live in aix les bains and have our usual favorite places to dinate, but last Saturday night we decided to try a new place. auguste is centrally located and was beautifully decorated, so we went to try it. it was a total...mature off and really the worst we ever had! small tiny portions of dosenfutter, expensive, deceptive menu. €20 for over boiled sole the size of a hand that was clearly out of the freezer. menu said « rib » but we have only 4 small slices fat bar (with bits of soft bone still in). the mushrooms came from a dose that was surprising as the mushrooms are now in the season in the region. unnecessarily say we're not going back. there are so many wonderful other places to dinate in aix. Owners should really rethink the price, the quality of their food and the branding on their menu. it is unacceptable to have today a restaurant in such an excellent location in our beautiful city that tears people so shamelessly.

We took the entrecote and the pasta of the day, It was so good that i personally took both an a desert.

We have gone to this restaurant a few times, it's best when they have the little cottage setup otside selling fondus, hot wine and Diot sausage! Last time we went we invited friends of ours and had a lovely evening. I ordered the entrecote and...it was a bit chewy maybe the cut isn't great but the potatoes were delish. My husband got the lamb and it was delicious, extremely tender and flavorful. Desserts were uneventful, I got the blueberry (Myrtilles) pie and it was quite dry, not tasty and the chocolate fondant cake was standard. They have the best bread there, not sure where thwy get it but I must find out. The service was great, very attentive and it was pretty affordable, we (all 4) had a beverage before supper, shared a bottle of wine, had full dinners and each had a dessert for 150euros, so priced quite well.

Recommend this bar/restaurant in the center of Aix-les-Bains. Decent appetizers, fairly limited main courses (5 choices) but food was good. Wholesome salads served with a soft-boiled egg were a great choice. Cheese plate afterwards was perfect.

Il y a quelques semaines que nous avions envie de découvrir ce bar restaurant au centre d'Aix . Premier abord positif : décoration soignée, propre et bien tenu . Accueil agréable mais un peu froid . Bizarrement on a mis un peu de temps à s'occuper de nous ....mais une fois la "machine " lancée la soirée s'est très bien déroulée, très très bonne entrecôte, vin de qualité, serveuse très efficace. Je recommande.
