Dunraven Arms - Adare

Was there as a guest during Regeneron's end of year party. The ambience is cool, spacious with lot of parking space.

Hotel is clean, the rooms are nice, and the staff is very friendly. We had a fireplace in our room which is fun. We got a welcome gift of small pastries. Overall very good experience

I don't understand who says he's old and he'd be renewed. You can breathe a beautiful Old Fashioned atmosphere, which is the main feature of this historic hotel. It really is worth a stop in Adare, a very small town that has typical houses with straw roofs. Breakfast is served in the restaurant room and is very complete and of quality. There is always homemade cooked ham cut by hand. Super attentive and courteous staff. Always present also the owners who have a maniacal attention to detail and to that everything works perfectly. Absolutely recommended.

There were things that contradicted each other. There was no tea and coffee tray in the room which is very unusual. However, it is complimentary and can be ordered via reception as often as you desire. This is obviously one of the 4* benefits. We were in the area to visit the local hospital so I asked reception if they could drop off a couple of ham sandwiches. I was told there would be a €20 tray charge. It didn't make sense to me, they will bring me as much tea and coffee as I want but they want €20 to put sandwiches on the tray? One the morning of the hospital appointment I went into the dining room to make the sandwiches myself. A member of staff noticed me looking around and asked if I needed help. I explained and the gentleman went and made me sandwiches and made up a takeaway bag, I was so grateful. The following morning there was a plate of cold meats and cheese, I asked for some of the ham the hotel is known for and was told I couldn't have it. I then asked for a cheese and ham omelette which I received. However, it was inedible, I sent it back but got no response. The server was very embarrassed but it wasn't her fault. So having had totally different experiences and cooperation from one person and I'd call it either laziness or ignorance from another. I came away confused to say the least!
